Radio Manifiesto - Radio Preset
La gente me pregunta constantemente sobre la configuración de la radio: qué preset deberían elegir y por qué yo elegí EU Narrow en lugar de Portugal.
La respuesta es sencilla, este es un proyecto de open source y vivimos en un país libre. Cada uno puede configurar su equipo como quiera, siempre que respete la ley de radiocomunicacion y las regulaciones nacionales o de la UE.
Al construir la red en Madrid, decidí utilizar el estándar EU Narrow.
¿Por qué?
Respeto los resultados de las investigaciones sobre el preset Portugal, pero esta no es una cuestión de parámetros técnicos. Para un debate técnico ya es demasiado tarde, y lo es desde hace muchos meses.
Esta es una cuestión sobre el futuro del desarrollo de la red Meshcore en España.
En el momento de escribir este texto, hay alrededor de 10.000 repetidores en toda Europa,
de los cuales aproximadamente 250 están en España y Portugal en conjunto (no todos con el preset Portugal, datos a finales de febrero de 2026, según el mapa www). Tenemos mucho trabajo por delante para alcanzar la densidad de red que existe en GB, DE o PL, ya que estos países son líderes en el desarrollo de Meshcore en Europa.
Elegir EU Narrow nos da la esperanza de conectarnos con otros países en un futuro cercano.
La configuración portuguesa (preset Portugal) provocaría el aislamiento de España del resto de la red Meshcore en Europa.
Y la misión principal de la red Meshcore. y de mi proyecto MadMesh, es unir a las personas, no dividirlas.
¿Qué elijo yo?
Yo elijo EU Narrow y miro al futuro con esperanza.
Espero que los amigos de Madrid y alrededores que se han unido al proyecto MadMesh permanezcan con esta configuración y que sigamos desarrollando juntos este maravilloso proyecto.

People keep asking me about the radio settings, which preset they should choose, and why I chose EU Narrow instead of Portugal.
The answer is simple: this is an open-source project, and we live in a free country. Everyone can configure their equipment the way they want, as long as they comply with radio laws and national or EU regulations.
When building the network in Madrid, I decided to use the EU Narrow standard.
Why?
I respect the research results behind the Portugal preset, but this is not a technical parameter question. It’s already many months too late for a technical debate.
This is a question about the future development of the Meshcore network in Spain.
At the time of writing this text, there are around 10,000 repeaters across Europe,
of which about 250 are located in Spain and Portugal combined (not all of them using the Portugal preset, as of the end of February 2026, according to the online map). We still have a lot of work ahead of us to achieve the same network density as in the UK, DE, or PL, countries that are leaders in Meshcore development in Europe.
Choosing EU Narrow gives hope for connecting with other countries in the near future.
The Portuguese settings (Portugal preset) would result in isolating Spain from the rest of the Meshcore network in Europe.
And the fundamental goal of the Meshcore network, and of my MadMesh project is to connect people, not to divide them.
What do I choose?
I choose EU Narrow, and I look into the future with hope.
I believe that friends from Madrid and the surrounding areas, who have joined the MadMesh project will stay with these settings, and that we will continue to develop this wonderful project together.
I invite everyone fascinated by Meshcore from other regions of Spain and Portugal to join.

I respect your choice, but please respect mine and do not ask me to change the settings of my repeaters.

Ludzie ciągle pytają się mnie o ustawienia radia. Jaki Preset powinni wybrać, i dlaczego ja wybrałem EU Narrow a nie Portugal.
Odpowiedź jest prosta, to jest open source projekt, i wolny kraj, każdy może skonfigurować swój sprzęt tak jak chce, o ile przestrzega przepisów radiowych i regulacji krajowych, czy EU.
Ja przy budowie sieci w Madrycie zdecydowałem się użyć standardu EU Narrow.
Dlaczego?
Szanuję wyniki badań nad Preset Portugal, ale to pytanie nie jest pytaniem o parametry techniczne, na dyskusję techniczną jest już za późno i to o wiele miesięcy.
To jest pytanie o przyszłość rozwoju sieci Meshcore w Hiszpanii.
W momencie pisania tego tekstu, na terenie europy jest około 10.000 przemienników,
z czego na terenie Hiszpanii i Portugalii łącznie około 250 (nie wszystkie na presecie Portugalskim, stan na koniec lutego 2026, wg mapy online). Przed nami jest naprawdę dużo pracy żeby osiagnąć takie zagęszczene sieci jakie jest w UK, DE czy PL bo te kraje są liderami w rozwoju Meshcore w Europie.
Wybranie EU Narrow pozwala mieć nadzieję na połączenie z innymi krajami w niedalekiej przyszłości.
Ustawienia Portugalskie (Preset Portugal), będą powodować Izolację Hiszpanni od reszty sieci Meshcore w Europie.
A podstawowym zadaniem sieci Mescore i mojego projektu MadMesh jest łączyć ludzi a nie dzielić.
Co ja wybieram?
Ja wybieram EU Narrow i patrzę z nadzieją w przyszłość.
Mam nadzieję, że przyjaciele z Madrytu i okolic, którzy dołączyli do projektu MadMesh, pozostaną na tych ustawieniach i będziemy dalej rozwijać wspólnie ten wspaniały projekt.
Zpraszam do współpracy wszystkich zafascynowanych Meshcore z pozostałych regionów Hiszpanii i Portugali.

Na tym chciałbym zakończyć temat wyboru presetu, i wrócić do budowy kolejnego przemiennika, który mam zamiar zamontować w miejscu z pięknym widokiem na Madryt i na góry.
